Proper Jewellery Handling and Cleaning Tips

Jewellery is always a symbol of beauty, women’s charm, and wealth. Several Jewellery products are Women’s favorite since long. Women are always eager to add new products into their existing jewellery collection. They always feel proud in flaunting their collection of jewellery in front of people, to show their wealth, knowledge and latest jewellery fashion concepts. However, increasing jewellery product count in your collection is not important. The important thing is to understand the importance of your jewellery, to know about their proper handling, maintenance, and timely cleaning. are few handy tips regarding handling of jewellery:. Respect the preciousness of your jewellery. Never wear jewellery when doing household works, like cleaning, cooking or gardening. Wear jewellery for proper occasions or celebrations, which are special for you.. Avoid any kind of chemical contact with your jewellery. Your nail polish removers, perfumes, hairspray, and other cosmetics can be harmful for jewellery due to presence of chemicals. These chemical can reduce your jewellery shining caused by polishing.. When not in use, place your jewellery items in the boxes or cases specially made for them, which are provided by your jewellery manufactures at the time of buying jewellery.. Clean your jewellery at a regular time interval. This will keep your jewellery items clean, shining, and always new. Ask your manufacturer for a proper cleaning solution for your jewellery. They will provide you cleaners, but not all jewellery products should be cleaned with same cleaner. It depends upon jewellery type. Diamond jewellery, pearl jewellery, and gold jewellery all are having different natures, so different cleaners should be used to clean them.. Avoid wearing jewellery when swimming in a pool. The chlorine in pool water can be harmful for your jewellery. respecially 22-carat gold is one of the softest metals, and it can get scratch easily, so try to protect your jewellery from scratches. Visit your jewellery manufacturer time to time for proper cleaning, polishing and complex maintenance tasks like pearl beads cleaning. By doing this little effort regularly, you will enjoy the pleasure of wearing jewellery for a long time. The shortage of teachers or constant changes in the staff is not a problem. All our teachers are highly qualified, and we do expect and welcome new talented colleagues, who are full of new ideas and enthusiasm. It should be noted that along with common learning and creative activities, Vilnius Academy of Arts pays a particular attention to the development and improvement of students and teachers’ qualification skills in the field of creative entrepreneurship. Thus, in order to implement the Strategic Development Plan for 2006-2010, approved in 2005, Vilnius Academy of Arts established a jewellery gallery “ARgenTum” in 2007. The Gallery invites our students, graduates and teachers to exhibit their works and organise personal .Lithuanian jewellery art is blossoming pushing up demands of jewellers and encouraging the establishment of new companies and galleries. If there is demand, that means there will be supply. The range of jewellery services in Lithuania is very wide – from serial bijouterie to one piece artistic articles. The popularity of art jewellery is very dependant on a specific city or gallery. The demand for jewellery artists in Telšiai is totally different, since it is a rather small town, and the demand for artistic works is always lower compared to that in Vilnius. Qualified and professional artists are always able earning a living with their work. Speaking about amber jewellery, the only thing I can say for sure is that amber cannot be treated destructively!!! Manufactures of mass amber production destruct tons of this precious material. I am very disappointed with the way it is used and with various stuff produced from it, whereas we are gradually running out amber resources. Of course, everything depends on the awareness of manufactures and consumers. Although people today do not buy glittering stuff any more, jewellery exported to faraway countries by our wholesale traders still poplar in those regions. A good decade ago Lithuanian contemporary jewellers perceived amber from a different perspective, i.e. not as a raw material, but as the tool for artistic expression. In 1998 the Museum of Amber started organising thematic amber jewellery competitions and exhibitions. Such competitions help the artists to implement their artistic ideas. I think there are not enough of such competitions for jewellery artists and people in search for exclusive jewellery articles.
